Zillertal, Austria
The Zillertal is one of Austria's most popular ski areas – and rightly so. It offers over 500 kilometers of slopes, modern lifts, snow parks, freeride terrain, and trails for beginners. From the Hintertux Glacier, which guarantees snow all year round, to the sunny slopes of Hochzillertal, everyone will find their ideal slope here.
The region is known for its diversity, quality of services, and authentic Alpine atmosphere. In addition to skiing, it attracts visitors with cross-country trails, winter hiking, sledding, and a variety of après-ski activities. Zillertal is a place where sports, nature, and winter fun come together in their purest form.
SKI RESORT ZILLERTAL ARENA
The Zillertal Arena is the largest ski area in the Zillertal Valley – and what makes it special is its size, variety of terrain, and connection of four mountain resorts across two federal states.
The Zillertal Arena connects Zell am Ziller, Gerlos, Königsleiten, and Hochkrimml into one large area offering 150 km of slopes of all difficulty levels. From the wide carving highways above Zell am Ziller to the sporty slopes in the Königsleiten area, every skier will find their ideal terrain here. The longest run, the "Höhenfresser-Tour," is 11 km long and has an elevation difference of almost 2,000 meters, making it one of the longest and steepest runs in Austria.
Freestylers will enjoy the snow parks in Gerlos, while families will appreciate the children's areas, practice slopes, and ski schools. Thanks to 52 modern, high-capacity lifts, you can get to the slopes quickly and without waiting. And after skiing? Cosy mountain huts, stylish snow bars and unforgettable views of the Hohe Tauern National Park await you.

Skiing that starts with sunshine
In Zillertal, you can enjoy the unique experience of morning skiing thanks to the "MorningSport" program – the first tracks on a perfectly groomed slope before the resort opens.
Every morning at 7:30 a.m., the Ahornbahn cable car takes you up into the silence of the mountains bathed in the first rays of sunshine. An untouched blanket of snow awaits you, without a single track, without queues – just you, the mountains, and the perfect atmosphere. Morning skiing in the Zillertal is an experience that combines peace, natural beauty, and the pure joy of movement.
Cross-country skiing
The Zillertal is a paradise not only for downhill skiers, but also for cross-country skiing enthusiasts. The region offers more than 125 km of groomed cross-country trails that lead through the picturesque valley along the Ziller River and up to higher elevations. Among the most popular are the promenade trail between Kaltenbach and Aschau and the panoramic circuits in the Tux area. For more demanding cross-country skiers, there is a high-altitude trail near Hochfügen. In Uderns, you can also enjoy evening cross-country skiing on a floodlit trail.
SNOWPARKS
The Zillertal Arena offers several snow parks that will delight beginners and experienced freestylers alike. Action Park Kreuzwiese in Zell am Ziller attracts visitors with its fun run with banked turns, jumps, SkiMovie, and Speed Check tracks. Gerlos has a 30,000 m² snow park with obstacles and a chill-out zone. The Hochkrimml Funpark is ideal for children and beginners, where they can safely try out their first tricks.
SNOWTUBING - GERLOSSTEIN
Snow tubing in the Gerlosstein area is a fun alternative to traditional skiing. You can slide down a specially prepared track in an inflatable tube without needing any equipment. The track is safe, accessible to all age groups, and ideal for families with children. Fun, laughter, and adrenaline—all in one place.
Gerlosstein toboggan run
The longest illuminated toboggan run in the Zillertal is located in Gerlosstein. It is 7 km long and illuminated until 1:00 a.m., which allows for night riding. You can reach the top by the Gerlossteinbahn cable car, and after your ride you can relax in a mountain hut. The run is suitable for families and sports enthusiasts alike and offers an unforgettable experience away from the slopes.
ARENA COASTER
Right next to the Rosenalmbahn cable car valley station in Zell am Ziller is the Arena Coaster – the first Alpine roller coaster in the Zillertal. Waves, jumps, sharp turns, and maximum speed await you on the 1,450-meter-long track.
SNOWBIKING
Snowbiking is an adrenaline-fueled winter activity that combines the excitement of mountain biking with the ease of skiing. Instead of wheels, it has special bike skis, allowing you to glide smoothly down snow-covered slopes. It is ideal for those looking for an alternative to traditional skiing – it is easy to control, requires no previous experience, and offers fun for all ages.
