Slovenia not only on a raft

The town of Bled is undoubtedly one of the symbols of Slovenia. It lies on the shores of the lake carrying the same name. The lake itself is of glacial origin and is suitable for riding or swimming. The area is a good starting point for rafting on the Sava River and for a trip to the Vintgar Gorge.

Bled is the name not only of the town, but also of a territorial unit in northwestern Slovenia at the foot of the Julian Alps. Lake Bled, which is fed by underground springs and surrounded on three sides by mountains, creates a specific and climatic spa, where the unique microclimate, thermal springs and hiking or other sports activities are healing. The first spa house in Bled was built in 1858 by the Swiss doctor Arnold Rikli, a specialist in natural healing methods. Rikli's baths have successfully treated migraine, high blood pressure and rheumatism.
